A child can enter a game and, for a while, forget everything else. There is a new world to figure out, a friend waiting nearby, perhaps a small victory to celebrate. Boss Studio LLC has built a business around creating those moments. Its growing charitable work begins with a harder thought: many children have too little room in their lives for moments like these.
The Idea Behind the Games
Founded in 2020, Boss Studio develops and operates experiences on Roblox. Millions of young people have spent time in its games, playing alongside friends from places and backgrounds the studio may never see firsthand.
The company’s charitable vision grew from that relationship with its audience. “Every kid deserves the same chance to play and enjoy being a kid,” the studio says. It is a statement about childhood beyond gaming: where a child is born or what their family can afford should not decide how much space they have for happiness.
To date, Boss Studio’s charitable contributions have exceeded $500,000. The figure reflects what its work has made possible outside Roblox and offers a starting point for what the company hopes to accomplish next.
The Founder and the Studio He Built
Founder and CEO Brandon Ha entered the Roblox development community at a young age. Now 21, he has spent approximately seven years working within its ecosystem and established Boss Studio as an independent operation in 2020.
Brandon is American, ethnically Korean, and was raised in Nicaragua. His life across cultures offers context for the studio’s outlook, while its games have brought it into contact with a worldwide community of young players.
Boss Studio has expanded into developing, acquiring, operating, and growing multiple Roblox experiences. More than 65 contractors and an executive team of more than 10 directors support that work. The company’s increased scale has also given it more resources to direct toward causes beyond its games.
The Many Forms of Giving
The studio’s charitable contributions have supported UNICEF, Save the Children, the Pledgeling Foundation, private institutions, and other initiatives. Operation Smile has received support on multiple occasions. The giving has unfolded across the years, including around the holidays.
Its website offers a closer view of two efforts. More than $65,000 from game earnings has funded educational scholarships for over 40 students. Through Rosabands, a clothing campaign, the studio covers the costs and donates all profits.
The scholarships give the story a particularly clear connection to the studio’s beliefs. Education can widen a young person’s choices; play can make room to enjoy being young. Its contributions take different forms, but each reflects an interest in what children may be able to experience when given more opportunity.
Looking Past the Screen
The motivation behind this work runs deeper than a successful game company sharing its earnings. Boss Studio has watched young people use its games to find enjoyment and connection, and it wants more children to have those possibilities in their lives.
“We’ve seen how something as simple as playing a game can bring people happiness, friendships, entertainment, and memories,” according to the studio. The thought speaks to experiences that cannot be reduced to a visit count: having somewhere to meet a friend, something to look forward to, or time that belongs to childhood.
The charitable contributions support organizations and initiatives with different aims; they do not all provide children with games. What ties them to Boss Studio’s vision is the belief that a child’s circumstances should leave room for learning, well-being, and joy.
What the Numbers Make Possible
Boss Studio’s portfolio has now drawn billions of visits and tens of millions of community members. In November 2025, it publicly reported more than 5.2 billion visits and nearly 30 million members. The audience has continued to grow substantially since then.
Those figures explain the company’s capacity, but they are not the destination of this story. As its games reach more people, the studio aims to devote more resources to efforts that reach beyond its player communities.
“For us, $500,000 isn’t a finish line,” the company notes. Boss Studio hopes that lifetime donation total will eventually look small beside what it goes on to contribute.
The Work Still Ahead
Boss Studio plans to continue building Roblox experiences. Giving, meanwhile, is becoming part of how the company thinks about its future, with the ambition to increase its contributions as the business develops.
Brandon’s early work gave the studio its foundation. The decision to keep extending its reach beyond Roblox now rests with the wider organization and with what it chooses to support year after year.
No single donation can guarantee a happier childhood. Boss Studio’s vision calls for persistence: using a growing business to create more opportunities for children whose lives may offer too few of them.
A game can open a world for a few minutes. Boss Studio is asking whether the success of those worlds can help open possibilities that last longer.
