Joseph Jordan has never been one to take the easy route. With a career that started on Wall Street at just 17 years old, followed by stints in advertising, Special Forces training, and founding multiple companies, his journey has been one of resilience and adaptability. Today, Jordan is leveraging his diverse experience as the Founder and Managing Partner of Fortify Ventures, an investment firm focused on national security, aerospace, and rare earth elements, critical sectors for the future of American strength.
A New Frontier for Venture Capital: National Security and Defense
Fortify Ventures isn’t your typical venture capital firm. While many funds chase after trendy tech startups or consumer goods, Jordan’s firm is zeroed in on something far more pressing: America’s national security and its ability to compete globally in sectors that are vital for its future. One of the key pillars of Fortify’s strategy is investing in aerospace and defense technologies, areas where the stakes are high but the potential for long-term impact is even higher.
“The commercialization of space is just getting started,” says Jordan. “With the advances made by companies like SpaceX, we’re entering a new era where space exploration is going to be critical not just for national security but for economic growth.”
Fortify Ventures is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation, investing in early-stage companies that are pushing the boundaries of innovation in aerospace. This includes everything from satellite technology to advanced robotics, all designed to strengthen America’s position as a global leader in defense.
Securing America’s Rare Earth Supply Chain
Another significant focus for Fortify Ventures is rare earth elements, a sector often overlooked but critical for the production of everything from smartphones to military equipment. The issue, as Jordan sees it, isn’t the supply of these minerals—it’s the refining process. China currently holds a significant share of the world’s refining capacity, which puts the United States at a significant disadvantage.
“We have plenty of supply here in America,” Jordan explains. “But without the infrastructure to refine these elements, we’re reliant on foreign powers, and that’s a dangerous place to be.”
Fortify Ventures is investing in companies that are working to build a domestic supply chain for rare earth elements, aiming that America can remain competitive in the global market. For Jordan, it’s not just about making a profit; it’s about securing the future of American industry and innovation.
A Balanced Approach: Combining Hard and Soft Power
While Fortify Ventures is focused on the hard power of defense and national security, Jordan’s other venture, Sirius Films, takes a different approach. Sirius Films invests in entertainment projects that aim to project strength and traditional values. This dual strategy of investing in both hard and soft power is what sets Jordan apart from other venture capitalists.
“Sirius Films is all about using entertainment as a way to influence culture,” says Jordan. “We’re funding projects that send the right message, that project strength, resilience, and traditional values. It’s a way to shape the narrative.”
One of Sirius Films’ ambitious projects is its exclusive funding of the Valiant comic book universe, a competitor to giants like DC and Marvel. For Jordan, the opportunity to influence both the defense and cultural landscapes is a powerful one.
Looking Ahead: A Vision for America’s Future
As Jordan looks to the future, he remains focused on raising capital for his dual ventures. With Fortify Ventures, he aims to continue investing in cutting-edge technologies that will keep America secure and competitive on the global stage. With Sirius Films, he plans to fund entertainment that will inspire and influence audiences worldwide.
“We’re at a pivotal moment in history,” says Jordan. “The decisions we make today, the investments we make, will shape the future of our country. I’m committed to making sure that the future is strong.”
Jordan’s vision is clear: a strong America, both in terms of its defense capabilities and its cultural influence. Through Fortify Ventures and Sirius Films, he is hoping to make that vision a reality.
