Hailing from Guyana, South America, Scott Savory arrived in the United States in 2008 and found his passion for real estate in 2010. While working at a bike shop in Paragon Sports, a friend mentioned earning significantly from a rental deal. Intrigued by the opportunities in the U.S. and the accessibility of the real estate industry, Scott left his job to pursue a career in real estate. It was a bold choice for a 20-year-old, one many advised against—advice he now laughs about, given the incredible journey that followed.

Scott approached his new career with the same determination that brought him to New York. Through hard work, valuable mentorship, and seizing opportunities, He has developed a reputation as a knowledgeable advisor for buyers, sellers, and developers. With over a decade of experience in real estate, Scott leads a team focused on achieving positive outcomes. His story reflects resilience, vision, and a commitment to his clients.

At Compass, Scott leads The Savory Team, specializing in sales across Brooklyn and Manhattan. His approach combines deep industry expertise with a structured, solution-oriented model. Scott and his team employ innovative strategies to address client challenges at every process stage. For buyers, this involves finding the ideal property even in low-inventory areas, analyzing market conditions, and aiming for clients to make well-informed bids. His strategies have been effective, contributing to several competitive bidding wars won this year. On the selling side, Scott’s team focuses on pricing, marketing, and creative outreach to present listings in their best light, aiming to facilitate quicker sales at competitive prices. This involves keeping sellers well-informed and leveraging a network of professionals—photographers, stagers, contractors, bankers, and attorneys—to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Scott is dedicated to his clients, approaching each transaction with a focus on their long-term goals and financial well-being. “The right or wrong advice can mean the difference between making or losing a home, or even thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars,” he explains. Scott’s work has supported clients in making informed decisions about their real estate investments.

Scott’s influence also extends beyond his direct client interactions. His relationships with peers support negotiations and provide access to inventory. At the same time, his role on the StreetEasy Advisory Board allows him to contribute to the real estate community, enabling him to shape the real estate experience for New Yorkers. The Savory Team was involved in a significant sale in Brooklyn last year and represents several new developments, reflecting Scott’s active role in the NYC market. Compass’s Private Exclusives program also offers clients access to pre-market listings and allows sellers to explore different market strategies.

Outside the world of real estate, Scott is an accomplished cyclist who has represented Guyana in the Commonwealth Games and other international races. A former NY state champion, he also holds the record for the fastest lap around Central Park. Today, he races for a nonprofit cycling team that raises significant funds annually for charity. The organization supports underrepresented cyclists, helping to provide them with exposure on a global stage. Scott jokes that his competitive spirit and determination serve him just as well in real estate as in cycling, balanced by his kind and grounded personality.
