McKade Levi Marshall is a multifaceted individual whose career spans from business consulting to media production, acting, and charitable work. Born on September 4, 1984, in Abilene, Texas, Marshall has navigated diverse paths that have shaped his personal and professional life. Known for his inspirational Christian books, YouTube series Word of the Week, and commitment to various humanitarian causes, Marshall’s journey reflects his passion for blending faith, creativity, and business acumen.

Marshall’s formative years were spent in Albany, Texas, where he was actively engaged in his local community. As a teenager, he balanced academics with athletics, playing basketball and dreaming of emulating NBA star Larry Bird. His leadership abilities were evident early on, as he served as class president at Albany High School and advocated against social issues such as domestic violence and drunk driving. Marshall attended a MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) conference in Fort Worth, which further fueled his desire to promote positive social change.

After graduating from Cooper High School in Abilene at the top of his class, Marshall went on to attend Hardin-Simmons University (HSU), where he earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). His academic achievements were impressive, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA and serving as student body president. Marshall’s leadership and popularity culminated in him being named HSU’s Mr. Bronco, a title given by popular vote.

Despite his academic success and a promising career in business, Marshall’s experience working at an accounting firm made him reconsider his career trajectory. This shift in focus led him to the performing arts, where he found his true calling. While attending HSU, Marshall participated in stage theater at McMurry University, where he earned nominations for Best Lead Actor for his roles in Medea and The Glass Menagerie. His passion for the craft grew, and after graduating, he spent a summer in New York City honing his acting skills before ultimately deciding to pursue a career in Hollywood.

Career Transition: From Business to Entertainment

While business remained an integral part of Marshall’s professional life, his passion for the arts began to take center stage. After earning his MBA, he briefly consulted for various clients in Malibu, advising small businesses and entrepreneurs. However, his true professional journey began when he transitioned into acting. Marshall’s time in Malibu also included reading lines and studying with original Charlie’s Angels actress Kate Jackson, further developing his skills.

Marshall studied acting under Candace Silvers, who often shared insights from her father, Phil Silvers, and lessons learned from his work on The Phil Silvers Show. Silvers emphasized that high stakes make for great acting—a philosophy that resonated deeply with Marshall.

During his time in Malibu, Marshall worked closely with the Malibu City Council and Mayor Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner, a former Marlboro man, to pass ordinances protecting local businesses. He collaborated with actor and artist Leigh McCloskey to safeguard his daughter’s local business, reflecting his commitment to supporting the community.

Marshall’s time in Malibu was particularly notable; in 2011, he was featured on the cover of Malibu Times Magazine as one of the city’s Most Eligible Bachelors. As part of this recognition, he attended the grand opening red carpet gala for the Malibu Inn, where he mingled with stars like Gwen Stefani, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Gerard Butler. This event highlighted his support for Malibu’s finest local establishments, aligning with his commitment to fostering local culture and business.

Modeling and Media Work

Marshall’s distinctive presence also led to opportunities in modeling. He was approached by renowned jeweler Ronald Grunberg to model custom-designed jewelry. His modeling career included several notable moments, such as an outdoor shoot in Midtown Manhattan with Tony Award-nominated actor Chad Kimball, where Marshall was photographed for a project that showcased his natural appeal. Additionally, he briefly worked with the Forbes family, establishing a connection with the prestigious business publication.

In addition to acting and modeling, Marshall became a prominent media figure. In January 2017, he launched Word of the Week, a weekly YouTube series focused on sharing gospel teachings with viewers worldwide. The series quickly gained a global following, reaching audiences in over 145 countries. In addition to this, Marshall also serves as the host and executive producer of The Better View with McKade, a Christian talk show that addresses real-life issues from a faith-based perspective.

Faith-Based and Humanitarian Efforts

Marshall’s faith has been a driving force throughout his career. He is an advocate for sober living and mental health, often sharing personal stories about his own challenges and victories. His mother’s tragic passing in September 2024 due to alcohol addiction further deepened his commitment to promoting recovery and mental well-being.

In addition to his personal advocacy, Marshall’s humanitarian work includes missionary efforts with Iris Global at a Zimpeto orphanage in Mozambique, where he spent two weeks providing aid. Although he faced health challenges from malaria medication after returning to the U.S., Marshall remains dedicated to global poverty alleviation and supporting those in need. His belief in faith-driven living extends to his work with various nonprofit organizations, including Rotary International and the Preserve Malibu Coalition, and his participation in fundraising events such as the Malibu Chili Cook-Off.

Writing and Books

Marshall’s literary works also reflect his commitment to faith and personal growth. He is the author of four inspirational Christian books, each offering practical insights into living a life guided by biblical principles. His books, including Tasting the Goodness of God (2014), Breathe (2016), Finding Your Keys (2018), and Why I Stand With Israel (2021), resonate with readers seeking spiritual guidance and personal transformation. Why I Stand With Israel was inspired by a visit to Auschwitz with Holocaust survivor Irving Roth, further emphasizing Marshall’s advocacy for human rights and faith-based solidarity.

McKade Levi Marshall’s career trajectory exemplifies the power of pursuing one’s passions while staying grounded in faith and business expertise. From his roots in Albany, Texas, to his current work as an author, consultant, actor, and media producer, Marshall has consistently demonstrated a commitment to inspiring others and making a positive impact. Whether through his books, media work, or humanitarian efforts, McKade Marshall continues to influence others with his message of faith, resilience, and personal growth.
