Welcome, happy readers, to the journal of FuBear, a particular cheerful bear known for handshakes, hugs, and infectious enthusiasm. Taiwan Excellence sent FuBear on a whirlwind tour that tossed him into parades, parks, and gatherings both big and small as part of the “Give Me Five! A Better Life” journey. Along the way, he’s collected plenty of memories, and not all of them are just paw prints!
Snapshots from Around the Map
Taipei greeted FuBear with rainbow banners and welcoming crowds. In Bangkok, he swapped stories (and plenty of high-fives) at water festivals beneath the sun. Children in Manila lined up to slap his paw and giggle, while families in Germany held up ‘Welcome’ signs in their local language.
Each new country added its own flavor. It didn’t matter if the gathering was in a bustling market or a school auditorium, happiness followed this furry friend everywhere. With every high-five and shared smile, the mascot brought people together, bridging cultures and spreading joy in the most unexpected places.
The Meaning Behind the Mascot
Why the name FuBear? It’s more than just a nickname; ‘福’ (fu) is a word that carries wishes for luck and happiness in Mandarin, a fitting emblem for someone who turns high-fives into something magical—even those who’ve never met him before leave with a better day.
Small Acts, Big Results
FuBear collaborated with volunteers in Malaysia to organize a non-stop chain of high-fives, breaking a local record and boosting fundraising efforts for education and environmental initiatives. The event not only celebrated community spirit but also raised awareness about the importance of supporting sustainable causes.
Festival organizers in India shared how the mascot’s playful presence drew record crowds, inspiring more participants to learn about and care for the environment. These weren’t one-off moments. Each event, from workshops on reusing materials to group games, was designed to get everyone moving, laughing, and connecting. The vibrant energy and sense of community sparked a lasting commitment to sustainability in participants of all ages.
Building Bonds, Offline and On Screen
Couldn’t make it to a live event? The Give Me Five! campaign lives online, too. On the website, fans and new friends alike upload smiling photos, share video greetings, and send digital high-fives. With every submission, a tally on the site ticks upwards, a visual reminder that kindness adds up, no matter where you are.
Stories from Vietnam’s classrooms, US city centers, and UK schoolyards fill the gallery.
Virtual attendees write notes about feeling inspired to do a good deed after seeing the campaign’s reach. Many expressed how the positive energy of the campaign motivated them to take action in their own communities, spreading kindness and making a difference.
