Q: Can you tell us about your career in hairdressing?

A: In 2004, I won two consecutive hairdressing competitions, securing second place among hundreds of talented participants from all over Ukraine in the men’s haircut category. After moving to Kyiv, I advanced from a simple stylist to the Art Director of the international beauty salon chain, Maija.

Q: What is your definition of beauty? And what makes people beautiful?

A: For me, if a woman has reached the age of 30 and hasn’t become beautiful, it’s simply because she hasn’t met a good stylist. I believe that when I create a look, my clients always leave shining. Therefore, a beautiful person is someone of any gender and age who has found their stylist.

Q: Do you believe that inner beauty and feelings play a role in the fashion world?

A: Absolutely, inner beauty and feelings are inseparable to the fashion world. Though appearance and style are important, a person’s inner beauty and confidence truly helps to succeed in fashion. A stylist with a well-developed sense of style can create stunning looks, but it’s the client’s confidence and how they carry themselves that bring these looks to life. Additionally, fashion is a form of self-expression that reflects one’s personality, emotions.

Q: You are a mom, wife, hair stylist, and so much more. What does a regular day look like for you?

A: Five days a week, I happily help my clients enhance their beauty. But I always remember that family is paramount. I have two wonderful daughters, aged 11 and 12, who are seriously into gymnastics. They are already taking their first steps in coaching and dream of joining the fashion industry.

Q: What has changed for you since becoming a mother? Do you feel you are the happiest woman?

A: When I first had one daughter, and then just over a year later, my second, I truly felt happiness. Motherhood has brought a profound sense of purpose and joy into my life. It has taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of unconditional love. Balancing my career and family has its challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. I’ve learned to prioritize and manage my time effectively, ensuring that I can give my best to both my family and my clients. My daughters have inspired me to be a better person and professional. Watching them grow, achieve their own goals, and dream of joining the fashion industry fills me with pride and happiness. The love and support from my family have been a driving force in my career, helping me to create stunning looks for my clients, many of whom have become my friends. Yes, I do feel like the happiest woman, as I’ve been able to fulfill my dreams while nurturing a loving and supportive family.

Q: Are there any projects, photoshoots, magazine features, or events that you will never forget?

A:One of the highlights of my career was participating as a guest stylist in several events during Ukrainian Fashion Week and shows by Ukrainian designer Andre Tan. These experiences were incredibly enriching and provided me with the opportunity to work alongside some of the talented professionals in the industry. I vividly remember the excitement and creative energy that filled the air during these events. Each show was a unique challenge, requiring precision, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure. The chance to collaborate with Andre Tan, whose designs are both innovative and elegant, was particularly memorable. His vision and attention to detail pushed me to elevate my own skills and think outside the box. The exposure and recognition from these events have been pivotal in my career, opening doors to further opportunities and collaborations. Additionally, seeing my work featured in various fashion magazines and the positive feedback from those features have been immensely gratifying.

Q: Do you have a personal favorite spot or habit that you enjoy most?

A: My best habit is a lack of laziness and a constant drive to learn and perfect my skills.

Q: Do you have any dreams you would like to achieve in the coming months or years?

A: Currently, I am nominated for the title of Best Hairdresser 2024 at the HAIR AWARDS USA. Additionally, in 2024, I aim to open my own beauty salon. This has been a long-term dream of mine, and I envision it as a space where clients can experience high-quality services in a warm and welcoming environment. My goal is to create a salon that not only offers exceptional hair and beauty treatments but also serves as a hub for creativity and learning. I plan to host workshops and training sessions for aspiring stylists, sharing my knowledge and experience to help them grow in their careers. I am excited about the future and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead as I work towards these goals.
