The Last of Us: Due to the upcoming HBO version of The Last of Us, fans are thrilled that 2023 is just a little less than a week away.

HBO continued the momentum by announcing a companion podcast for the show, following the release of teaser images and an official trailer.

Troy Baker, who performs Joel’s voice in the video game, will be on The Last of Us podcast.

Baker is involved with more than just the video game.

He also plays a character in the show.

He is also present in the companion podcast, which he will host.

The show

The 2013 PlayStation 3 video game of the same name is adapted in The Last of Us series by HBO.

According to the original story, the series will center on Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal), a carpenter forced to become a smuggler, and Ellie, a 14-year-old (Bella Ramsey).

Ellie is crucial to understanding the Apocalypse, hence she has a significant part in both of the platforms.

The first game in the series and its downloadable extras, The Last of Us: Left Behind, will be highlighted in The Last of Us show.

Three weeks before the events of the main plot, Riley and Ellie’s friendship are highlighted in Left Behind.

Troy Baker, who has been confirmed to play a new character for the show, will host the companion podcast, according to an announcement from HBO Max.

Along with the show’s creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, Baker will analyze each episode scene by scene.

Although the debut episode of the podcast hasn’t yet been released, many believe it will follow the January 15 premiere of The Last of Us.

The launch of a companion podcast for a popular TV show is not exclusive to The Last of Us.

In-depth podcasts by the studios or the series’ stars on shows in development have been popular on TV recently.

Craig Mazin, the co-creator of The Last of Us, is one of many who saw the value of podcasts.

He previously greatly contributed to The Chernobyl Podcast, which dissected each episode of the HBO miniseries.

The Last of Us podcast may have been inspired by the podcast experience.

The podcast will probably discuss how the series has changed from the game.

HBO podcasts

One of the big studios to benefit from the launch of a companion podcast for their show is HBO.

HBO created companion podcasts for Succession and House of the Dragon in addition to Chernobyl.

The first season of the popular show was covered by The Official Game of Thrones Podcast: House of the Dragon, which featured several special guests, including co-creator Ryan Condal.

In the meanwhile, HBO’s Succession Podcast delves further into the schemes of the Roy family.

With the aid of journalists, psychologists, and members of the show’s team, to name a few, the podcast links the show to actual events.

Other podcasts

The Office and the groundbreaking superhero series Smallville are two more well-known TV programs that have entered the podcasting space.

The podcasts aren’t made by the studios; instead, they were made by the stars.

Office Ladies was created by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, who played Pam Beesly and Angela Martin, respectively.

The podcast has hosted a number of guests, including actors Steve Carrell and John Krasinski as well as showrunner Greg Daniels.

Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum co-host Talk Ville.

In the prequel series Smallville, the pair portrayed young Clark Kent/Superman and Lex Luthor.

The Last of Us viewers will probably learn more about the show’s plot, characters, and other changes.

Additionally, once the companion podcast launches, they will receive some intriguing behind-the-scenes trivia.
