During Miley Cyrus’ performance at her exclusive Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, Sia yelled, “Ready for this?!” However, none was prepared for what happened next.
Sia joined Cyrus during the first verse of her performance of “Stars Are Blind,” a 2006 dance-pop hit by Paris Hilton. But to end the set, the group invited none other than Hilton herself to the stage.
“I told you I had another surprise!” Hilton said on Instagram of the reveal. “I had so much fun singing #StarsAreBlind on @MileyCyrus’ New Years Eve Special with Miley & @SiaMusic! The perfect way to ring in 2023 and celebrate my new version of this iconic song.”
Although she had earlier in the week published a reworked version of “Stars Are Blind” as a preview for “brand-new music” arriving in 2023, Hilton’s participation was nevertheless a surprise to the audience at the celebrity-studded Miami event.
After her presence at the New Year’s celebration, she continued to tease on Instagram.
“I can’t wait to show you all the other exciting things I’m working on. This is only the beginning! Happy new year!” she added.
“It’s Paris Hilton!” Sia yelled as they ended the performance.
“That’s hot!” Hilton responded into her microphone.
On Saturday night in Miami, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party was hosted by Cyrus and Dolly Parton on NBC. Rapper Latto, Los Angeles rock band Liily, singer-songwriter Fletcher, and the popular hip-hop group Rae Sremmurd were among the special guests.
