Most Awaited Films and Actors Coming Our Way Next Year

Disney and Marvel are expected to continue to be a strong force in the theatrical market, allowing audiences to continue to experience the magic of their films on screens around the world.

Audiences are excited to see what the new movies of the year have to offer. According to Fandango’s Most Awaited Movies survey, viewers can expect some highly anticipated titles with star appearances.

Disney Studios is always evolving, and fans can’t wait to see the latest performances.

Halle Bailey has been named as the most awaited as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, and Melissa McCarthy is slated to play the villainous role of Ursula, which could definitely go down in history.

Chris Pratt also plays future hero Peter Quill (aka Star Lord) from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, so get ready for an epic adventure not to be missed.

Moviegoers are gearing up for an exciting year with their sights set on the top five sequels of 2021.

From Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to John Wick: Chapter 4 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, it’s sure to be an action-packed summer. Additionally, Spider-Man Across The Verse, Antman And The Wasp: Quantumania would lead audiences into exciting new worlds.

What It Means

An overwhelming majority of respondents suggested that box office revenue could surge again in 2023 as more moviegoers are expected to return to theaters.

This follows a lukewarm recovery from closures forced by COVID-19, indicating many are eager for some form of cinematic entertainment after more than a year away. 

“With more than a hundred new releases heading into theaters, fans are excited to see movies back on the big screen where they belong,” Fandango Managing Director Erik Davis stated. 

“The new year promises a significant increase of movies people want to see in theaters, from returning franchises like Indiana Jones, Creed, Hunger Games and Mission Impossible, to highly-awaited re-imaginings like The Little Mermaid and Haunted Mansion, to off-the-wall entertainment like Cocaine Bear and M3gan. 2023 boasts one of the most exciting movie line-ups in years.”
